Our church is involved in a number of Mission outreaches. We have three main areas:
Wabamkela A daily feeding scheme and crèche for pre-school is run by volunteers from St Nicholas in the Walmer Township with the assistance of 3 part time staff members.
These little people are given one cooked meal a day, led to Christ through scripture stories, prayer, praise and workshop songs, and intellectually prepared for main stream pre-schooling.
With the support of the entire St Nicolas community, Wabamkela works very hard to accomplish their vision of "Feeding the whole child: body, mind and spirit".
Reaching the Munyoyaya people: This is an un-reached people group in Kenya. What this means is that there is not yet one Christian Church made up of Munyoyaya people.
This ministry is passionate about the spiritual and material support of the missionaries in Kenya. They keep the members of St Nicholas informed and motivated on mission matters and areas where they can get involved. They aim to have at least 1 of the missionaries we support, visit Port Elizabeth every year and to raise up a group from St Nicholas to visit Kenya every 2nd year.
Other areas: As a church, we are supporting other Mission organizations in prayer and with a monthly contribution. These are: Aids Haven, Jerusalem Ministries and Transformation.
